Following on from last year’s success North London Waste Authority (NLWA) and environmental charity Groundwork London have joined forces to run the London Upcycling Competition 2017.
North Londoners are invited to enter the London Upcycling Competition for a chance to win prizes worth up to £150, if their upcycled furniture item is judged a winner. The competition is now open and there are just 25 places, so keen amateur upcyclers are urged to register now at www.wiseuptowaste.org.uk/thelondonupcyclingshow Entries close on Monday 16 October 2017.
The 2017 competition will see people and organisations who live, work or study in the north London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest turning old furniture pieces into upcycled masterpieces.
Entrants will receive a piece of furniture and have 2-3 weeks to upcycle it. All entries will then be judged on 19 November at the second London Upcycling Show taking place from 11am to 3pm at the Walthamstow Assembly Hall (E17 4JF).
Those that take the challenge will have the chance to win up to £150 to spend at a DIY store and all exhibited entries will receive a goody bag. Entrants will have the opportunity to keep their finished creation or donate it to one of the reuse hubs run by Groundwork London as part of their Repurpose project.
