East Village Community Activities, Events and more

The nights may have drawn in, but the Park is still brimming with world-class activities and events to enjoy throughout the colder months. The iconic venues from the London 2012 Games remain open for action all year round too, with cycling, swimming and more to keep you going!

Autumn continues to sweep across the parklands, with stunning promenades and gardens, lined with vibrant oranges and rustling leaves - captured perfectly by our many Park visitors as shown on our Instagram page.

November is certainly another busy month as we welcome the Shrouds of the Somme - an iconic artwork display taking place on the South Park Lawn (next to the ArcelorMittal Orbit). The England Roses will be returning to the Copper Box Arena with more international netball matches.

Alongside the state-of-the-art playgrounds, free and interactive trails, food, drink and many more activities available across the Park - everyone is invited to embrace the outdoors this month.

Remember, entry to the Park is free all year-round, so escape the city this month without even leaving Zone 2 and get ready for an autumn adventure!

The year may be coming to a close and people winding down for the festive period, but we still have a host of events for you to get excited about on the Park and of course, the perfect place to take a seasonal stroll!

The UCI Track Cycling World Cup will be rolling in to Lee Valley VeloPark Velodrome this weekend, where the best in the world on two wheels will be battling it out for the elusive World Cup title. The London Lions are once again taking to the court in the Copper Box Arena in an attempt to climb the BBL table and a host of festive runs will get your blood pumping despite the colder temperatures!

If you’re looking for the perfect place to take a winter wander, look no further than the Park! With acres of parklands to discover and playgrounds where the kids can release some energy, it has something for the whole family. Not to mention the host of cafés in and around the Park to warm you up as you refuel.

For those looking for some last-minute present ideas, the Park is the place to be in 2019! From spectacular sporting events including the FINA Diving World Series, FIH Hockey Pro League and Saracens v Harlequins rugby to magnificent music from Muse and Arcadia, there is something for everyone!

Remember, entry to the Park is free all year-round, so escape the city this month without even leaving Zone 2 and get ready for an autumn adventure!

The Park is also home to state-of-the-art playgrounds and free and interactive trails. February whizzed by at a speed that wouldn’t look out of place on the London Marathon Community Track, and now March is here bringing with it some spring cheer and plenty of exciting things to do on and around the Park!

We’ve got Premiership Rugby at the London Stadium with Saracens vs Harlequins, more fast-paced netball matches from our home team London Pulse and tickets going on sale for April’s Fed Cup playoffs between Great Britain and Kazakhstan.

It’s also a great time to make the most of longer days and lighter evenings – particularly from the ArcelorMittal Orbit, as you soak up the skyline views of London (and even brave The Slide, if you fancy an adrenaline fix). Bring your friends and family and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful daffodils and stroll along the boulevard in the south of the Park or take a look at our ideas for fantastic days out ahead of Mothering Sunday.

Remember, entry to the Park is free all year-round, so escape the city this month without even leaving Zone 2 and get ready for an autumn adventure!
