Museum on Wheels will showcase the rich social history of Newham. The project seeks to engage local residents and provide an immersive storytelling experience through the use of memorabilia, objects, photographs and sound. The history of Newham is constantly changing. A history that can be told through localised industry and shared social experiences. However, a series of new schemes/investments and the designation as an Olympic borough have brought about a renewed sense of positive energy and opportunity in Newham for the present and for the future.

The exhibition will showcase Newham’s past, present and future. Come and learn about the Stratford’s rich Social History and hidden past, right here in the former Athletes Village. Find out what was here in East Village before East Village. You will also have the oppourtunity to experience the ‘Little Germany’ exhibition, the largest German community in London.

On the day you will have the oppourtunity to:

Design and make historical badges for adults and children.
Sign up to Healthy Heritage Walking Tours.
This event is for all of those interested in the local history!

Thank you to everyone who attended the event.

We hope you found it informing & entertaining, please contact the Community Engagement Team if you have any ideas for future events or interests.

Great opportunity for all you residents!

Stratford Circus Arts Centre have got a show called Muvvahood being performed this week – a one woman show by local writer and actor Libby Liburd about her experience of life as single parent. On Friday 28 October they’ll be running a matinee performance at 1.30pm with a pay-what-you-can crèche for children so that parents who might not normally be able to arrange childcare to go and see a show can come along. They also offer Newham residents discount for their shows so tickets for are £13 each.

For more information please visit: more information about the show and the crèche on their website at: https://stratford-circus.com/event/muvvahood/
