Random photo from my balcony, it’s just taken with my phone but I like the patterns that the new lighting creates across the park at night.

Great photo of London taken from the ISS last night, spot the stadium!

A van painted by Sweet Toof just appeared in the street in Bow. Sweet Toof being one of the Burning Candy Crew, who’s artwork, Dirty Laundry, I saw being jet washed off the wall just south of the White Building to “smarten up” for the Olympics. I quite liked that, and once used a photo of a section on a home-made Xmas card.

Very interesting @alaninbow - many thanks for sharing!

There’s a brilliant 30 minute film on the iPlayer about photographer, Dougie Wallace and how he takes his insightful street photos. I’ve got two of his books; Shoreditch Wild Life and Stags hens & bunnies, a Blackpool story.

I wouldn’t have the bottle to photograph people in the street the way Dougie Wallace does. I also would prefer to portray my fellow humans in a more sympathetic way - but I do think it’s important that somebody documents the way life is lived today.

This is a picture of the Orbit under construction taken with a Nikon Pronea APS camera. These were the forerunners of the digital SLRs, with primitive back screens and auto functions. APS film is no longer made, and well and truly out of date, but I do enjoy experimenting and fiddling about. APS offered bad quality, so you have to wonder what all the major manufacturers were thinking of. Using it puts you in the LOMO category.
