PS: We still have a few places left for our next Night Photowalk in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on the 21st Aug — details and how to book, here: http://shareeast.co.uk/calendar/photowalk-august/

Hi everyone — quick reminder to say that we only have a few spots left for the @ShareEast Night PhotoWalk of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on the 21st August (It will be a Friday night). We will be having a few surprises for you and a bunch of very talented photographers from the Instagram community.

Out of 40 places we made available, unfortunately we only have 3 people from East Village that signed up for the photowalk so far and 30+ people that will be joining us are coming from outside E20. If you are a photography enthusiast and want to learn about night-photography/long exposure, please support this local event — only 7 places available.

You can sign up here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/night-photowalk-of-the-queen-elizabeth-olympic-park-tickets-17935719219

More info here: http://shareeast.co.uk/calendar/photowalk-august/

Meeting point: Outside Timber Lodge Café (1A Honour Lea Avenue, E20 3BB — close to the Velodrome in the Olympic Park.

Just to say, some people have been getting confused about how echoes work. In short 1 Echo = 1 hour.
Everyone gets 5 echoes to get going, so signup and the @ShareEast team will do the rest!

There is no obligation to earn echoes, so get involved as much as you want.

Don’t miss the Health & Wellbeing day on 15th August, so many inspiring sessions being held at the Olympic Park HQ and they won’t cost you a penny.

You can now post full-size landscape and portrait photos on Instagram.

REJOICE: The iron-fisted reign of the square is dead. Instagram just announced it’s letting you upload landscape and portrait-oriented photos and videos to the platform, which means you no longer have to rely on janky screenshot hacks or third-party apps to get that sunset gram of the lake looking just right. — WIRED

Photo Exhibition

Unit G / East London Life - by Colin O’Brien
12A Collent Street, Hackney, London E9 6SG

East London Life by Colin O’Brien is a photograph exhibition with a series of expressive black and white photographs, which shows street scenes in East London from past to present. The artist is very pleased by this brand new enterprising gallery which has just opened in Hackney, and he says it is important to show the images in the area where many of them were taken.

Seems to work really well, taking a crop directly through the middle of the landscape frame keeping the Instagram overview format. Good update :+1:

Looking forward to this, give me a shout and I’ll pop along with you.

Worldwide Instagram Meetup 12 - London

Oct 2-3, 2015 - This Worldwide InstaMeet falls just before the Instagram community’s birthday on October 6. To celebrate the vibrant, diverse and global community that has grown since Instagram launched just five short years ago, the theme of #WWIM12 will be to share #todayimet portraits of the people you meet. To help others connect to new and interesting people, ask the subject of your portrait about their favorite Instagram accounts, and include them in your caption with the #whoifollow hashtag.

Here a few photos I took yesterday during a photowalk around the streets of Shoreditch:
