Hi — I’ll be offering a shorter winter loop for this weeks club ride, with additional Mott/Church St loops available on the return leg for anyone who wants them. We’ll ride out together, do the loop together, return to the High Beech Hut for a coffee together and then the group will split for hill reps as desired.

Route can be viewed here downloaded here Club 03.12.17 e20cc.gpx (127.7 KB)

Prepare by:

  • Ensuring your bike is in appropriate condition
  • Understanding the distance and have route available for reference
  • Wearing weather and distance appropriate kit
  • Taking water and snacks during the ride (ideally consuming at the back of the group)
  • Carrying spares: basics for addressing flats/mechanicals
  • Carrying cash/cards for getting home if you have serious mechanical issues

Any questions or suggestions just give me a shout, otherwise just let me know if you plan to come along.

Cheers,

Nice one Chris, I’m in…

Providing The Ashes isn’t absolutely gripping!

#4

I’ll join, hopefully I’ll feel better by then! If not I’ll probably still join and just drop back/ do a smaller loop if I’m no good

#5

Hey! I was just chatting to the dude in Pave Velo about joining a club and he told me all about you guys. Can I come along to your ride out tomorrow am? I was planning to head out to Epping solo! Annie

#6

Hi @Annie_McBain - we usually ask that for your first ride with the club you join the accessible rides that happen twice a month (2nd & 4th weekends) but if you want to come down to the meet at 08:15 tomorrow we can have a chat, answer any questions you might have and go from there.

Alternatively you can wait til next week for the next accessible group ride, the info on which will be posted here too.

Either way just let me know, look forward to meeting you!

#7

Probably joining tomorrow for a short loop to High Beach and back. Very short time available…

/G.

#8

Nice one @Theqg_QG been too long!!

#9

Planning to join @SeaAyeRobson

@jools @Sjh — be good to see you!

#10

Good news @Lee - look forward to seeing you brother.

#11

Cant make this weekend sorry, family commitments. Will keep trying to be out over the winter so look forward to riding with you soon!

#12

Good little winter route that @Lee @Pastor-Kawesi @Guy_Wilson would you agree?

Little bit quieter lanes, a bit more UP and a short sharp few hours. Really enjoyed it!! Thanks all :pray:t3:

#13

Pleasure to get out finally after way too long. Thanks to @SeaAyeRobson for leading and @Pastor-Kawesi @Guy_Wilson for the restraint in not dropping me…

Highly recommend the menu at @Handcafe for a Sunday refuel, I went in for the Ntomates + with Feta.

#14

Sorry guy’s about the puncture, but on further analysis I realised that the tyre was knackered from the puncture on Saturday, hence causing the second one so quickly, also I did have my patches just didn’t see them in saddle bag in the gloom, so many thanks to Pastor for bailing me out with a spare inner tube. New Gatorskins on their way to avoid repeat of same! Moral of the story always re-check tyres and tubes after repair and carry at least one tube + patches or even two inner tubes. AND have a decent mini pump (yep another item on order!)

I’ll be leading the accessible ride next Sunday so I need to set a good example!

Hi All - With the potential for snow and ice in the lanes along with strong winds forecast for Sunday I am suggesting a track session at the velodrome from 09:00 as an alternative to our regular ride out. Lets meet at the track and we can organise some training groups depending on what people want to do.

#17

I like that

#18

Thanks Chris. As a wuss, I think this is a good decision. See you on Sunday.

#19

Good idea mate.

Last year the track during this time was covered with salt … not the best for your bike
