A new project is exploring the community's ideas, to inspire a proposal for a potential temporary development on an empty plot of land near Hackney Wick. The land is near Mossbourne Riverside Academy School and the Copper Box.
The purpose of this study is to research the needs of local residents, workers and businesses, and explore how the site could answer demand for a variety of workspace, employment, cultural and community uses.
Over the last few weeks, we’ve had lots of people getting in touch and sharing ideas about how the space at Clarnico Quay could be used. Some of these ideas include workspace for small businesses and creative workers, retail units and markets, studios and workshops, play areas, events space, public gardens and even a skate park.
We’re keen to delve further into these ideas and see what local people think would work at Clarnico Quay, and what exactly is needed in the area. As part of this, we’re holding focus groups where we can speak with local representatives in more detail. These sessions will be led by an independent facilitator. They will all be held in various venues near the site in Hackney Wick or Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on the 19th, 20th and 21st of April.
If you’re interested in participating and shaping the future of Clarnico Quay, please fill in this form. Unfortunately spaces for the focus groups are limited, so we may not be able to accommodate everyone. We will, however, keep everyone in the loop with our findings and invite you to future events if we’re unable to speak to you on this occasion.
