Multiple Club Rides can go ahead on any given Sunday. Members should feel free to post a ride and route at a pace they would like to do, with others joining that ride if interested. There is less emphasis on ride leading on Club Rides as all riders are responsible for themselves and should be familiar with group rides.

Accessible Ride: Sunday 8th April
Ride Leader: @Jonathan_Calderon @Anthony1405 @Sjh

Departure: 8:30am
Meeting place: Victory Park opposite of Sainsburys
Target Avg. Speed: 14mph (23kph)
Distance: 25-30 miles (40-50k)

Hello everybody. This weekend, we will have our usual ride up to the Acorn Hut at High Beech, Epping forest. There is the option of doing two hill climbs, Lippits and Mott street, for those who are feeling good.

This ride is a no drop ride. So no one will be left behind. We aim to work as a team and really build on group riding skills. Just remember, even though this ride is accessible we still aim to push ourselves.

We will aim for an average speed of 14mph (23kph) across the ride - this is flexible based on the ability on the ride itself, ride leaders will look out anyone struggling with pace and adjust accordingly.

Depending on ride leaders and who turns up on the day, the ride might be split into a faster group and a slower paced group.

Prepare by:

  • Pumping your tyres to appropriate pressure (this will depend on weather, if it is slippery I advise a lower PSI for more grip.)
  • Set correct saddle height and consider position
  • Understand the distance
  • Take on water and snacks during the ride
  • Carrying spare inner tube, levers etc.
  • Cash for getting home if you have serious mechanical issues
  • No need for rucksacks or luggage, remove D-Locks etc.
  • Have breakfast!

Please reply to this topic if you plan to attend - Thanks!!
Hope to see many of you there.

#5

Hello everyone,

To avoid any mishaps and for the benefit of safety @Anthony1405 and I are going to have cancel todays accessible.

The forecast for the existing rain does not look fun.

Hope you all enjoy your Sundays!

#6

Any plans for this Sunday?

#7

I’d be keen if there was plans…

#8

I’m not around yet again this Sunday. What sort of ride are people up for? Looks like weather will be decent.

EDIT: Word on the street is there will be a Blackmore ride posted here soon

#9

I’d be up for a ride tomorrow if there is one heading out.

#10

Two rides going out tomorrow.

Ride 1: @Jonathan_Calderon and @Theqg_QG are leading a fast pace (30kph+) ride out to Blackmore. This is a drop ride and only for those able to match that pace.

Ride 2: @MdeBokx and @Anthony1405 leading a 27kph average ride out to Blackmore. This will be a no drop ride within reason.

Departure: 8:30am
Meeting place: Victory Park opposite of Sainsburys

Prepare by:

Pumping your tyres to appropriate pressure
Set correct saddle height and consider position
Understand the distance
Take on water (and electrolyte drink) and snacks during the ride
Carrying spare inner tube, levers etc.
Cash for getting home if you have serious mechanical issues
No need for rucksacks or luggage, remove D-Locks etc.
Have breakfast!

Route here: Stratford to Blackmore.gpx (156.8 KB)

Please RSVP if you are coming!
