Annual Members meeting Homerton Hospital Foundation Trust

Dear all, just to bring to your attention that the Annual Members meeting Homerton Hospital Foundation Trust is taking place on Thursday, 21 September 2017, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm in the Costeloe Lecture Theatre, Education Centre, Homerton University Hospital, Homerton Row, London E9 6SR.

Homerton is the closest hospital to E20. The Liberty Bridge health centre works closely with Homerton hospital and even sends it’s pathology samples there for testing.

Homerton was one of the first 6 Foundation trusts in the country, as such it has a Council of Governors who play a very important role in the Trust.

Governors represent Trust members and act as an ambassador for both the Trust and the membership.

Governors help make sure that the views of members are heard.
Governors key responsibilities, include:
Holding the Non-Executive Directors to account for the performance of the Board.
Ensuring the trust is accountable to local people.
Recruiting and developing members.
Appointing or removing the Chairman and Non-Executive Directors

At the moment there is no membership constituency for Stratford and there is no representation of residents of Stratford on the Council of Governors.

The upcoming Annual members meeting would be a good time to lobby for a new constituency so residents of the rapidly expanding Stratford have representation at the Trust.
